While fans of Brazen anxiously look forward to head chef Kevin Scharpf’s upcoming appearance on “Top Chef Kentucky,” the wait is over for the latest season of “The Blackboard.” For those unfamiliar with Brazen’s famous blackboard, it highlights a rotating selection of dishes not offered on the regular menu. According to Scharpf, The Blackboard is changed “based on emotion.”
The kitchen staff contemplates their current menu. If guests are loving what is offered, they will leave the current selections. The most recent edition of The Blackboard has definitely been created with fall in mind. It focuses on comfort food, while also invoking pumpkin patches and apple orchards. Of course, Brazen’s intimate, low-lit atmosphere, combined with its rustic hardwood floors, brick walls, and a whole lot of history makes this the perfect location to escape the impending wind and snow of winter.
