The Mighty Morel

Spring is in the air. If we’re lucky we will have a bit of rain, warm temperatures, and a few good dead or dying trees with southwest exposure. This will create prime growing conditions for morels.

Morels are a treasure for many of us who either grew up hunting them, or had a friend who cared enough to take us along. Fortunately for Dubuquers, the Driftless Area is known as a goldmine for them.
