Southwest Health Expands Access to Advanced Vein Care

Dr. Ekaterina Fedorova

Southwest Health is expanding access to advanced vein care services through a new Vein Clinic, offering comprehensive evaluation and treatment for patients experiencing symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency, varicose veins, leg swelling, venous ulcers, and other vein-related conditions. Led by Ekaterina Fedorova, MD, Southwest Health’s Vein Clinic provides a full spectrum of modern, minimally invasive vein treatments that are often only available in larger metropolitan healthcare centers. Patients throughout southwest Wisconsin can now receive specialized vein care close to home without traveling long distances.

Vein disease, also known as chronic venous insufficiency, occurs when veins in the legs have difficulty returning blood to the heart. Common symptoms include leg heaviness, aching, swelling, burning sensations, skin discoloration, restless legs, and visible varicose veins. If left untreated, vein disease can progress to skin damage, chronic swelling, and venous ulcers. Southwest Health’s Vein Clinic offers advanced diagnostic evaluation using noninvasive ultrasound imaging and provides a variety of treatment options tailored to each patient’s needs, including:

· VenaSeal™ medical adhesive closure

 · Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)

 · Varithena® microfoam therapy

 · Microphlebectomy

 · Sclerotherapy

These minimally invasive procedures are performed in an outpatient setting and typically allow patients to return to normal activities quickly. Dr. Fedorova brings extensive surgical expertise and specialized training in the diagnosis and treatment of venous disease. Her comprehensive approach focuses not only on treating visible veins but also identifying and addressing the underlying sources of venous reflux, helping patients achieve more durable, long-term results.

The Southwest Health Vein Clinic serves patients experiencing symptoms such as leg heaviness, swelling, aching, visible varicose veins, skin changes, venous ulcers, or discomfort that worsens with prolonged standing. Early evaluation and treatment can help prevent progression of vein disease and improve overall vascular health.
