Kick Off the Holidays in Dubuque

The holidays are an exciting time for adults and children alike and in Dubuque, the festivities start shortly after Thanksgiving with enough events to keep everyone smiling.

A Merry Millwork Market will be back for the seventh year on Friday, December 1 and Saturday, December 2. A variety of refreshments – both food and drink – will be available on both days. Friday’s festivities last from 4 to 8 pm and include a tree-lighting ceremony with Santa Claus at 6 pm at the Schmid Innovation Center Courtyard. Santa will stick around until the market closes for the night. Carolers will be on hand to celebrate the season with holiday songs. The event continues Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm with local art and craft vendors and the opportunity to visit all of the market stores. Each year, between 2,000 and 3,000 people attend the festivities.
