Sinsinawa Mound Center – Providing Ministry Through Programming

by Beth Triplett

The Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa, WI believe that at the heart of ministry is relationship, and they have been fostering these connections through the Sinsinawa Mound Center for over 175 years. The Center serves as a place to “renew, refresh, and release” and invites people to the Mound to experience programming centered around the mission of the Sisters.

“The main objective is offering events, programs, and retreats that align with the mission of the Sinsinawa Dominicans to help build a holy and just society,” said Janice DeMuth, Arrangements and Hospitality Coordinator for the Mound Center. “We do a variety of programs that will bring people to the Mound either virtually or onsite.”

An upcoming highlight is the one-person performance Women of the Bible, March 21 and 22, which includes an afternoon dinner (see sidebar). Anita Gutschick portrays female characters from the Bible in an inspirational and engaging way, utilizing her acting skills to “glorify God through drama.” Gutschick has performed all over the country and is no stranger to the Mound, having performed there annually for over 15 years before the pandemic forced a hiatus.
