Dubuque’s Discovery Shop – More Than Just a Thrift Store

Dubuque’s Discovery Shop has been selling high quality, gently used women’s clothing and accessories along with fashionable home décor since 1995. Overseen by a manager and staffed by a team of dedicated volunteers, the shop uses proceeds from the sale of donated items to support the mission of the American Cancer Society “to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support, and to ensure everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.”

The tastefully decorated shop located at 2197 University Ave. offers name-brand women’s clothing along with shoes, jewelry, home décor, collectibles, crystal, china, books, small furniture, and more. “We’re not a consignment store, and we’re not a second-hand store,” said shop manager Diane Callahan. “What we are is a non-profit women’s boutique and home décor shop. We’re pre-loved. Some of our items still have new tags on them.”
