Dubuque Symphony Orchestra

The Dubuque Symphony Orchestra (DSO) invites audiences to experience the transformative power of music during its 2026–27 concert season, Spirit, Luminous. Through an inspiring collection of orchestral masterworks, acclaimed guest artists, and memorable musical storytelling, the season explores themes of resilience, love, hope, community, and the enduring strength of the human spirit.

“The music we share with you this season is sure to inspire, uplift, and illuminate your spirit!” shares Music Director and Conductor William Intriligator. “Music has the incredible ability to move our souls, bring us great joy, and help us feel more alive.”

Season highlights include Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1, Brahms’ Symphony No. 1, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7, Gershwin’s An American in Paris, and Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story.

The DSO also welcomes an outstanding lineup of guest artists throughout the season. Pianist Ilya Yakushev returns to Dubuque to open the season in October, followed by guitarist Marcus DeJesus in November. February’s Valentine’s weekend concert will feature DSO Principal Cellist Philip Bergman alongside acclaimed tenor Eric Ferring. In March, DSO Principal Oboe Chanmi Kim will take the spotlight as featured soloist.

Beyond the Classics Series, audiences can enjoy the DSO’s annual Holiday Concerts, the high-energy DSOrocks! concert and Season Finale, featuring iconic space-themed music from film and television alongside selections from Holst’s The Planets.
