Scenic Art Loop Artists Show 0ff Their Talent

Dubuque Area Arts Collective (DAAC) is hosting a First Friday event, open to everyone, on January 5th, 2024 from 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM celebrating regional and local artists from the Scenic Art Loop on the first and second floors at the Smokestack (62 E 7th St – Dubuque, IA 52001).

The exhibition will showcase creations of 14 artists including Amy Laskye of Amy May Photography and Reflections Boudoir in Calena, IL | Christina Cruz of Timeless Art Tattoo Studio in Hanorer, IL | Gail Chavenelle of Charenelle Studio Metalworks in Dubuque, IA | Geoffrey Mikol of River Bend Callery in Calena, IL | Heather Houzenga of Zenga’s in Mount Carroll, IL | Henry Matthiessen III of Stoned Art Studio in Dubuque, IA | Jenna Lueck of Jenna Lueck Art in Balltown, IA | K Kriesel of K Kriesel Art in East Dubuque, IL | Kathryn Baxa of From the Earth Studio in Calena, IL | Lorna Olson of L C Pottery in LaMotte, IA | Mark Dierker of Widdershins Callery at Bear Dancer Studios in Dubuque, IA | Rabecca Jayne Hennessey of The Collective in Elkader, IA | Stephonie A Schmitz of SAO Dzynz, Inc in Dubuque, IA | Theresa Blitgen of Homestead Studio and Callery in Bellevue, IA .

The collection of works spotlights various mediums of art including paintings, illustrations, photographic works, mixed media, metal and clay sculptures.

The featured artists are participants in the Scenic Art Loop, the Driftless Region’s exclusive year-round art guide – inviting travelers on a unique, fun, and inspiring self-guided art tour along the backroads and byways through the prehistoric landscapes of the Driftless Region and Mississippi River. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in creativity while visiting over sixty artists and artisan businesses dispersed in over 1, 700 square miles of beauty in the Tri-State Region of northeast Iowa, southwest Wisconsin, and northwest Illinois.
