Rountree Gallery Presents Slow Art Day

Rountree Gallery presents Slow Art Day on Saturday, April 13, 2024.  This year marks the 4th annual global Slow Art Day event at the Rountree Gallery and is hosted in partnership with Rooted Studio.  On average people spend 15-30 seconds viewing a piece of art in a gallery – Slow Art Day is an international campaign to encourage individuals to slow down and to explore what it means to view and consider artwork.

Activities will include:

8:00 – 8:45 – Slow Yoga
9:30 – 10:15 – Slow Yoga
11:00 – 11:45 – Kids Yoga
11:00 – 12:00 – Scratch off Tangle Workshop
12:00 – 1:00 – 108 Mala Beads Necklace Workshop
12:00 – 1:00 – SLOW Drawing Practice Workshop
1:00 – 2:00 – Mindful Gallery Walk

Slow Art Day will correspond with The Drift, an exhibit of 40+ area artists and Sneak Peek, an exhibit of 9 artist’s sketchbooks. Drop in the gallery anytime on Saturday, April 13th from 11:00 – 2:00 pm to check out exhibits with a self-guided tour or participate in one of the activities to engage with art in some different ways.

Rountree Gallery is an all-volunteer, non-profit arts center in Platteville, WI with a mission to foster, inspire and promote regional art, culture and creativity in Grant County and the tri-state area.
