Free Music on the Mound Features Dr. Evelyn Dias

Embark on a journey into the mesmerizing world of music after dark with Music on the Mound: Night Music with Dr. Evelyn Dias from 6:30 to 7:30 PM Tuesday, August 11 in St. Clara Chapel at Sinsinawa Mound Center. The tender embrace of nocturnes and the gentle caress of lullabies will soothe the audience’s spirit and lull guests into a dreamy, contemplative state as she plays the 1898 Steinway piano. This concert is free and open to the public and features works by Schumann, Barber, Poulenc, Rachmaninoff, Hindemith, Takemitsu, and Danielpour. Pianist Evelyn Dias has performed both as soloist and chamber musician in the United States, France, and the Czech Republic, as well as in her native country of India. She enjoys teaching and has served as an instructor at Northwestern University, Chicago’s Merit School of Music, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan, the California Conservatory of Music in Santa Clara, and the nonprofit Child’s Play Foundation in India. In 2025, she reprised her role as festival assistant at the Duo Piano Masterclasses held at Northwestern University. She currently serves as Assistant Professor of Music and Liturgical Music Coordinator at Divine Word College in Epworth, Iowa. Evelyn received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Iowa. She completed her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the Bienen School of Music at Northwestern University.

Sinsinawa Mound, an event center and Motherhouse of the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters in Wisconsin, is about five miles northeast of Dubuque, Iowa., and 10 miles northwest of Galena, Illinois.
