Dubuque Youth Organization to Host Legacy of Learning Fundraiser

A local nonprofit is hosting its annual fundraising event to support area youth and families impacted by its programs in the Dubuque and Western Dubuque areas. St. Mark Youth Enrichment’s Legacy of Learning event is set for Thursday, May 9, 2024, at the Hotel Julien. On the night of the event, a live stream will be available online at StMarkYouthEnrichment.org/legacy and on its Facebook page.

This year’s theme is backyard BBQ. The event will highlight stories from St. Mark parents and kids and focus on the impact St. Mark has on the more than 400 students it serves. It will include a BBQ-themed buffet and live auction.

“The team at St. Mark is so excited for Legacy of Learning 2024,” shares Beth McGorry, Director of Donor Relations. “Our guests loved the casual theme so much the last few years—we’re back to welcome people in their best cookout gear and transform the ballroom of the Hotel Julien into a backyard for a night of stories & impact.”

According to McGorry, no matter how attendees plan to participate, here is what to expect on May 9:

  • A night filled with stories and fun. Our kids have a lot of stories to share.
  • If you’re joining us in person, you can expect the night to end with a live auction and an opportunity to support our kids.
  • If you’re joining us online, you can expect to see and hear the same stories as the people in the room and be recognized as if you were joining us in person on event day.
  • This is the biggest fundraising event of the year, and the community’s kids need a safe space to learn, grow, and be the best version of themselves they can be.
