Dubuque Esports League (DEL), a charitable organization encouraging competitive and recreational players to develop skills through hands-on, experiential learning, recently named its first Esports Director, Drew “Elseweyr” Walton. Elseweyr is Drew’s gaming avatar.
Walton came to Dubuque Esports League as a lifelong gamer, father of two boys, and creator. After graduating from Loras College in 2015, he started his career in college athletics before making a jump into a creative director role for a local startup. When the pandemic flipped Walton’s plans upside down, he organized an online esports community where he saw firsthand the transformative impact of esports.
As the Esports Director, Drew is responsible for leading the esports community in the Tri-State area by managing and overseeing all aspects of DEL’s esports programs, teams, and events.
