The Dubuque, Iowa-based McCoy Group is expanding its footprint into Michigan. They have reached an agreement to acquire TNT Trailer Sales, a full-service semi-trailer dealership located in suburban Detroit, at 5055 Hannan Rd. in Wayne, MI. The acquisition is expected to be finalized this spring and will be managed as part of McCoy Group subsidiary, Stoops Quality Trailer.
TNT Trailer Sales is a Wabash and Extreme Trailers dealership, specializing in new and used trailer sales. TNT has full service and parts departments to handle all transportation needs.
TNT Trailer Sales will retain its name, while all 32 teammates will stay on staff following completion of the acquisition. The purchase is just the latest acquisition for the McCoy Group, Inc., which also is the parent company of Truck Country, as the organization continues to diversify its business offerings. In December, the McCoy Group doubled the size of McCoy Construction & Forestry, the organization’s John Deere construction and forestry equipment retailer, with the acquisition of eight dealerships in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Missouri.
Overall, the McCoy Group is home to six subsidiaries. In addition to Truck Country, Stoops Freightliner-Quality Trailer, and McCoy Construction & Forestry, the organization owns and operates leading bulk tank transportation companies, Foodliner, Quest Liner, and W.W. Transport. Overall, the McCoy Group employs 3,550 people across all its companies.
