The criminal justice program at Loras College established a chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma (APS). Loras becomes the 597th chapter of the international honor society that recognizes academic excellence of undergraduate and graduate students of criminal justice.

After a year-long process to earn chapter certification, Loui will serve as the chapter advisor for the ten founding student members.
Founded in 1942 at Washington State University, APS is a certified member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is affiliated with the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences.
