Four Mounds HEART Receives $97,493 Coronavirus Relief

Four Mounds announced that they are a proud recipient of a Coronavirus Relief Employer Innovation Fund Award for $97,493. The award will help power Iowa’s economic recovery by providing job skills training to Iowans who have lost opportunities and jobs due the pandemic. This training will connect Iowans to high demand jobs and grow a talented workforce.

For over 17 years, HEART (Housing Education and Rehabilitation Training) has successfully served hundreds of teens at risk. Students spend time in a traditional classroom and on a job site learning how to rehabilitate distressed rental units into beautiful homes for first-time home buyers. They receive a diploma, trade skills, financial savings, connections to future opportunities, as well as critical mentoring. The program has a 91% graduation rate and students have rehabilitated 37 homes in disconnected neighborhoods and completed 50+ community service projects.

Information on the adult programming can be found on the Four Mounds website at fourmounds.org/adultprogramming/.
