Harvest Moon Gathering at Sinsinawa Mound

Sinsinawa Mound Center hosts a weekend of learning, connection, and celebration with the Women, Food & Agriculture Network’s (WFAN) Harvest Moon Gathering beginning with a welcome dinner Friday, September 25 at 6 PM. Participants will learn about rural community organizing and share agricultural ideas and experiences. The gathering will end Saturday, September 26 at 6:30 PM. Registration fee is $100 for WFAN members and $160 for non-members. Reservations can be made online or by calling WFAN at 515.635.3276. Join WFAN as they unveil their strategic plan for 2027 to 2029; host a panel presentation on past and present rural community organizing and hold group discussions on agroforestry, farm business, water quality, land access and transition, and seed saving. The weekend includes a farm tour with Fields of Sinsinawa and soil health demonstration, a hands-on “build a bug house” workshop, and a Harvesting Our Potential’s 25th Anniversary Reception with silent auction and artistic treasures. Meals will be provided.

Sinsinawa Mound, an event center and Motherhouse of the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters in Wisconsin, is about five miles northeast of Dubuque, Iowa, and 10 miles northwest of Galena, Illinois.
