Join Daneen Bernhardt for Tai Chi Fundamentals from 10 to 11 AM Tuesday, June 30 in St. Clara Chapel at Sinsinawa Mound. Author Tricia Yu describes Tai Chi as a slow, graceful Chinese exercise that enhances relaxation skills, mental focus, and physical alignment while building leg strength, endurance, and stability. The Tai Chi Fundamentals experience was developed by Yu to be a simplified, easily accessible form of Yang Style Tai Chi that focuses on balance, flexibility, and strength while cultivating an alert yet peaceful mind. It is a low impact, moderately aerobic exercise.
Fundamentals Instructor Daneen Bernhardt, RN, BSN, is certified in Tai Chi. “My passion has always been helping people,” she said. “For 32 years, I have been a home health and hospice nurse which gave me a deep understanding of how bodies move, heal, and stay safe. With 14 years of teaching experience, I love blending my medical background with the gentle art of movement. My goal for this class is to create a welcoming and calming space to help others improve balance, flexibility, and a sense of confidence in their movement.”
No experience is required. This event is free and open to the public. Space is limited and can be reserved online or by calling 608-806-6087.
