Organizations in the Dubuque region serving women and children are invited to apply for a Women’s Giving Circle grant through April 14. This year’s grant cycle opened March 13, and Dubuque-area organizations are invited to apply. The application is available at DBQFoundation.org/WGCgrants and is due by 5 PM April 14.
This year, the Women’s Giving Circle will award approximately $20,000 to nonprofits to support projects or programs that significantly address barriers to opportunity for women and children, and help them achieve self-sufficiency. Each grantee is eligible for up to $5,000.
In addition to monetary grants, the Women’s Giving Circle awards gifts of supplies and other necessities for nonprofits. Nonprofits are encouraged to share their needs for volunteers and goods or supplies on the application.
Grants are made possible by Women’s Giving Circle members, who have contributed nearly $500,000 to the Women’s Giving Circle endowment since 2006. Annual gifts help the endowment grow, ensuring that the group will continue to support local organizations serving women and children – forever.
Since 2006, the Circle has granted more than $144,000 to nonprofits. Each year, the endowment pays out 5% of its earnings to support grantmaking. In 2022, the group awarded nearly $19,000 in grants to seven organizations.
