The Red Basket Project is the recipient of a grant from the McDonough Foundation in the amount of $5,000 to help build the nonprofit’s capacity for service. Established in 2016, The Red Basket Project strives to ensure each period is met with products, especially in cases of personal or financial need.
Since 2016, the Red Basket Project has distributed over 48,000 period packs to the Dubuque community at multiple distribution sites including the Dubuque Rescue Mission, Resources Unite, the Dubuque Community School District, the Dubuque Food Pantry, and more.
Period packs include supplies for one to two monthly cycles, discreetly packaged to provide support to women to menstruate with dignity.
