The Northeast Iowa Community College Board of Trustees announced Dr. Herbert Riedel as the College’s next president.
Dr. Riedel served as president of Lurleen B. Wallace Community College in Andalusia, AL where he introduced program offerings in advanced manufacturing, healthcare, and short-term skills training, as well as an honor’s program and the College’s first student housing complex. Previously, Dr. Riedel served as vice president for instruction and student development for Northeast Texas Community College in Mt. Pleasant, TX.
The process for selecting the next president included a comprehensive, nationwide search conducted by consultants R.H Perry and Associates, a review of qualified applicants by the President Search Committee at NICC, the selection of four finalists for the position, and public forums and interview sessions with the Board of Trustees, the public, faculty, staff, and students.
