Team Wine had a directive for this month: select a wine you would give to your sweetheart for Valentine’s Day, and bring a dessert to pair with it for a special night.

The prosect of four bottles was exciting, yet turned out to be only three as John and Miranda wisely teamed up and brought just one bottle and a dessert for the tasting. Angela, on the other hand, brought two half-bottles with appropriate dessert and I added a bottle and dessert as well. Our process was to taste each wine with its intended dessert before going on to taste with other desserts. Read on to find our results, but needless to say, we enjoyed ourselves!

John, now retired, will continue to write about wine and craft beer. He now has more time to enjoy both beverages and plans to visit more places that grow grapes and produce wine with an occasional brewery along the way.
