Bell Tower Theater Announces Kids Take the Stage Youth Theater Classes

The Bell Tower Theater has announced that their Kids Take the Stage Youth Theater Classes will be continuing this Spring. Kids from Kindergarten to sixth grade can immerse themselves in the world of theater in these weekly classes.

Artistic Associate Michelle Blanchard and guest teacher Sue Flogel will offer 4 different classes. Under their guidance, kids at all skill levels will learn and have fun.

Let’s Pretend             Kindergarten & 1st Grade  
Mondays from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM, March 24 to April 28, 2025

This class uses kids’ imagination and self-expression to build concentration, confidence and communication skills. The goal is to have fun discovering the world of theater. Space is limited to 16 kids per class. Teachers: Sue Flogel. Cost: $80

Pete the Cat Adventures      1st & 2nd Grades 
Tuesdays from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM, March 25 to April 29, 2025

Do you love “Pete the Cat” books? This class will bring some of your favorite Pete stories to life, with you as the actors. Stories will include “Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes,” “Pete the Cat: Rocking My School Shoes,” “Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons,” “Pete the Cat and the Missing Cupcakes” and “Pete the Cat and the Cool Cat Boogie.” Space is limited to 16. Teacher: Sue Flogel. Cost $80

Creative Theatrics    2nd & 3rd Grades
Wednesdays from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM, March 26 to April 30, 2025

This class uses beginning acting techniques and cultivates skills that help kids to be confident and comfortable on-stage using stories and short plays as a foundation. Each day we will focus on creating believable characters using props, costumes, pantomime, and dialogue. Teachers: Michelle Blanchard & Savannah Stookey. Cost: $80

Acting             4th, 5th, & 6th Grades
Thursdays from 4 to 5 PM or 5:15 to 6:15 PM, March 27 to May 1, 2025

This class focuses on acting skills and how to create believable characters. Kids will explore improvisation, stage movement and pantomime. We will use skits and short plays to work on mastering the skills needed in acting on stage. Space is limited to 16 kids per class. Teachers: Sue Flogel. Cost: $80

Classes are held in the classroom and on the stage at the Bell Tower Theater, 2728 Asbury Road in Dubuque’s West End. Financial assistance scholarships are available for qualified families.
