The 2022 Mississippi River cruise season is underway. Expect to see multi-storied cruise boats docked in the Port of Dubuque and crowds of visitors exploring all that Dubuque has to offer. River cruising is big business – not only for the cruise lines, but for cities included on the cruise itineraries.
According to Travel Dubuque, Mississippi riverboat companies plan to make more than 125 stops in the Port of Dubuque in 2022. Those stops translate into a big boost to Dubuque’s economy as cruisers visit the city’s attractions and retail stores.
Three major river cruise lines will dock boats in Dubuque in 2022: Viking River Cruises, American Queen Voyages, and American Cruise Lines.
“This year we are doing a ribbon cutting for each of the ships when they FIRST stop in the community,” said Julie Kronlage, Vice President of Sales, Travel Dubuque. “Viking will have a more elaborate ribbon cutting this year with Main Street Jazz Band in attendance, the Governor has been invited, and more.”
