Dubuque Symphony Orchestra Offers Holiday Events

The Dubuque Symphony Orchestra (DSO) will perform a pair of festive holiday concerts sure to delight audiences of all ages. Under the direction of Maestro William Intriligator, performances will take place Saturday, December 6 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, December 7 at 2:00 PM at the historic Five Flags Theater, downtown Dubuque.

Joining the orchestra are longtime collaborators—the Dubuque Chorale, Chorale Children’s Choirs, and members of the Heartland Ballet—along with vocal soloists Leslie Shalabi and Chrystina Morteo-Bowman. This year’s concerts also feature a special guest, Viktoriia Slyvka, performing on the bandura, a traditional Ukrainian harp known for its rich, melodic sound.

Saturday evening concertgoers are invited to stay after the performance for an Encore Reception, featuring complimentary holiday treats from Galena Bakehouse and the opportunity to meet members of the orchestra.

For families with young children, the DSO presents a special Holiday Family Concert on Saturday, December 6 at 1:00 PM This lively one-hour performance features upbeat holiday favorites, sing-alongs, dancers from the Heartland Ballet, the Dubuque Chorale Children’s Choirs, and special guest appearances. Photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus after the concert are included.
