Dubuque Regional Humane Society Offers Camp for Kids

The Dubuque Regional Humane Society will host two vet camps this summer, happening June 25 and July 30, 2024.

If you are interested in a career working with animals, then the Dubuque Regional Humane Society (DRHS) Vet Camp is for you. Our Vet Camp is an exciting hands-on learning program aimed towards middle and high school students interested in veterinary medicine. Students will learn about caring for animals, careers in veterinary medicine, and what it is like to work as a veterinarian. Camp will include a tour to see what goes on behind the scenes in the shelter setting, gaining hands-on experience with clinical procedures, observing a spay/neuter surgery, and more.

Vet Camp for students entering grades 6 – 8 will be on Tuesday, June 25, from 9 AM – 12 PM. Vet camp for students entering grades 9 – 12 will be on Tuesday, July 30, from 9 AM – 1 PM. Registration is $75 per camper and includes snacks and supplies used during camp. The money raised from camp registration benefits the thousands of animals the DRHS cares for each year.
