The Iowa Insurance Division and the Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) have recognized UnityPoint Health – Finley Hospital SHIIP volunteer Bill Rokusek for his 10 years of service as a SHIIP counselor. SHIIP presented the award acknowledging Bill Rokusek for his years of service and support during SHIIP’s 2018 volunteer and sponsor recognition luncheon.
As a SHIIP volunteer, Bill provides provides free-of-charge counseling and information to people with questions about Medicare, Medicare supplement insurance, the Medicare Part D Prescription Drug program, Medicare Advantage, and other health insurance.
The State of Iowa created SHIIP in 1990 in response to the statewide need for senior health insurance information. SHIIP does not recommend insurance companies, plans or agents. Across the state, more than 370 volunteer counselors, trained by SHIIP and the State of Iowa Insurance Division, assist Iowans in finding answers to their Medicare questions and providing impartial information to help them make informed decisions.
