The Dubuque Community School District is pleased to name Brian Kuhle as the district’s next chief human resources officer, pending approval by the district Board of Education. Kuhle will begin transitioning into the position over the next few months and will assume the position full-time on July 1. He will succeed Amy Hawkins, who was recently named the district’s next superintendent of schools.
As chief human resources officer, Kuhle will oversee all human resources operations for the approximately 2,000 employees in the district. This includes district-wide planning and coordination of staff recruitment, the performance evaluation system, employee relations and personnel management.
Kuhle currently serves as assistant principal for activities and athletics at Hempstead High School, a role he has held since 2014. In this role, he has oversight of all extracurricular activities, fine arts programming and 21 varsity athletic teams at the school. A member of the school’s leadership team, he has been responsible for hiring and evaluation of teaching staff from multiple disciplines and worked to create and maintain building protocols.
Great Pick. Truly a great guy.
