Over 160 summer interns were welcomed to the community at an event sponsored by Greater Dubuque Development and AccessDubuqueJobs.com. The interns, sponsored by area employers, will learn about what the Greater Dubuque area has to offer – not only during their internship with Dubuque-area employers, but into their future. Talent Dubuque is one of many programs developed to recruit, retain, and develop workforce the Greater Dubuque area.

Wednesday, July 10 – Business Leader Luncheon 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Hotel Julien Dubuque, 200 Main Street Learn from a panel of area business leaders why the Greater Dubuque area is a great place to live and work.
Wednesday, July 17 – YP July Luncheon 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Location to be announced. Participate in the monthly Young Professional Luncheon attended by over 250 area members.
Wednesday, July 24 – Professional Development from 3:00-4:00 p.m. Plus a Networking Opportunity from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium, 350 E 3rd Street. Participate in a one-hour training on “Understanding Difference in the Workplace” on Intercultural Competency, followed by a post training networking event.
Wednesday, August 7 – Professional Development from 3:00-4:30 p.m. Certificate Ceremony 4:30-6:00 p.m. at the Convivium Urban Farmstead, 2811 Jackson Street. Participate in a one-hour training, “Building Your Professional Presence,” followed by a Certificate Ceremony for those who successfully completed the series. Business Sponsors are invited to participate in the ceremony and networking session to follow.
