The Molony Foundation, founded in 2015 by Kay, Donnie, and Jimmy Molony with the mission of supporting local nonprofits, supplying educational scholarships, and helping those less fortunate. As they aged, the Molonys had increased interactions with health care providers and learned the cost of education prohibited many from pursuing degrees in the field. To help with educational costs and encourage the next generation of nurses, The Molony Foundation designed a Healthcare Scholarship Program.
This year’s recipients of the $ 2,500 Healthcare Scholarship are: Ayda DeLaRosa (not pictured) and Lilly Topping, both from Western Dubuque Cascade High School.
In 2022, the Foundation added a renewing healthcare scholarship, for up to four years or $10,000. The 2022 renewing scholarship was awarded to Erin Knipper, Western Dubuque Cascade High School/Mount Mercy University. The 2023 renewing scholarship winner is Elizabeth “Lizzy” Sheets, Maquoketa High School.
