MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center has earned Magnet designation for a fourth time, a testament to its continued leadership in high-quality nursing practice and patient care. The American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Magnet Recognition Program distinguishes health care organizations that meet rigorous standards for nursing excellence. This credential is the highest national honor for professional nursing practice and recognizes MercyOne as a leader in patient care.
Receiving Magnet recognition for the fourth time is a great achievement for MercyOne Dubuque, as it continues to proudly belong to the global community of Magnet-recognized organizations. Just 498 U.S. health care organizations out of over 6,300 U.S. hospitals have achieved Magnet recognition. MercyOne Dubuque is the second hospital in Iowa to achieve its fourth designation, just behind University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, which achieved its fourth designation in 2018.
