Dupaco Community Credit Union was recently honored with a Credit Union National Associate (CUNA) Excellence Award for Welcome Aboard – The Dupaco Onboarding Experience, an employee onboarding program that is part of the credit union’s strategy to attract and retain talent.
The Dupaco Experience is an employee onboarding experience, beginning the moment a person applies for employment, and integrated throughout the interview, offer, multi-day orientation and ongoing employee development effort. Each stop within the Dupaco Experience is thoughtfully crafted to exemplify Dupaco’s member-centric culture, values, and brand. With their award winning new employee onboarding program, Dupaco saw 2,500 applications and hired 113 employees in 2018. Turnover remained low at 13% (compared to a peer average of 18%).
The award was presented by the CUNA Human Resource & Organizational Development Council, a national network of nearly 900 credit union professionals. Awards are given in each of nine categories. Dupaco was awarded in the Innovative Staff Development category.
These awards recognize and honor staff of credit unions that exemplify excellence in human resources and training and promotes credit union philosophies through leadership.
