Five Flags Center is proud to announce the Rock & Roots Series, a three-show concert lineup celebrating the rich sounds of Americana, folk-rock, bluegrass, and roots music. The series brings Appalachian Road Show, Music of Laurel Canyon featuring Buffalo Rome, and John McEuen and The Circle Band to the historic Five Flags Theater stage in 2026 celebrating America’s semi quincentennial through timeless songs, masterful musicianship, and unforgettable live performances.
The series kicks off on July 10with Appalachian Road Show. A visionary acoustic ensemble rooted in the traditions, stories, and spirit of Appalachia, Appalachian Road Show brings together the award-winning talents of Barry Abernathy, Darrell Webb, Jim VanCleve, and Zeb Snyder. Blending bluegrass, folk, and Americana with rich harmonies and exceptional musicianship, the group honors the music, culture, and history of the Appalachian region while bringing fresh energy to the stage. The Anderegg Family opens the show. This event is made possible through support from the Backbone Bluegrass Festival held at Backbone State Park the last full weekend of every July.

On September 19, the Music of Laurel Canyon featuring Buffalo Rome takes the stage featuring Kevin Douglas (Bendorf), a Lancaster, WI, native. Nicknamed “the Crosby, Stills, and Nashville of the digital age,” Buffalo Rome blends the earthy feel of the 1970s West Coast country-rock scene with a modern Americana sound. In The Music of Laurel Canyon, the group celebrates one of the most influential musical communities of the 1960s and early ’70s, paying tribute to the songs and artists that defined an era, including Joni Mitchell, Buffalo Springfield, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Joni Mitchell, The Mamas and the Papas, and The Eagles.
The series concludes on November 21with John McEuen and The Circle Band presenting “Will the Circle Be Unbroken”. A founding member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, John McEuen has spent more than 50 years performing around the world with his banjo, fiddle, guitar, and mandolin. Often referred to as “the String Wizard,” McEuen helped initiate the landmark Will the Circle Be Unbroken album and continues to captivate audiences with an evening of beloved songs, acoustic virtuosity, and stories from one of the most influential careers in American roots music.
