
Sinsinawa Mound Center is hosting Music on the Mound by Trio 5 Thursday, May 21 from 7 to 8:30 PM in St. Clara Chapel. This captivating performance features string instrumentalists Micah Behr (piano/viola), Madlen Breckbill (violin/viola), and Philip Bergman (cello). The ensemble will bring to life a rich program of piano trios by Gabriel Fauré, Gerald Cohen, and Micah Behr on the remarkable 1920 Steinway piano. A suggested $5 donation will be collected at the door. Come early to explore our heritage exhibit, “A Journey of Faith and Service,” and enjoy pre-show refreshments.


Philip is a cellist, musician, and educator based in Illinois. He is the principal cellist of Orchestra Iowa and the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra and a section cellist in the Illinois Symphony Orchestra. He serves as assistant adjunct professor of cello at the University of Northern Iowa. Philip received his Bachelor of Music at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his Master of Music at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Madlen has worked in Europe, China, Japan, and North America. Madlen serves as artistic director of Samtalä | Musicians in Dialogue, facilitating chamber music collaborations dedicated to diverse and experiential programing. Madlen performs regularly as a violinist and violist with the Madison Symphony Orchestra, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, the Quad Cities Symphony Orchestra, and the Madison Bach Musicians. She holds a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music from UW-Madison. Micah received his Doctorate in Viola Performance at UW-Madison. His compositions and transcriptions have been premiered by the Madison Bach Musicians, Samtalä: Musicians in Dialogue, Trio With(out) and the Griffon String Quartet. He also composes music for Geneva Campus Church where he serves as music director.
Sinsinawa Mound, an event center and Motherhouse of the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters in Wisconsin, is about five miles northeast of Dubuque, and 10 miles northwest of Galena.
