Swiss Valley Park & Preserve to Hold Two Public Events this Weekend

Dubuque County Conservation is excited to offer an adventurous weekend at Swiss Valley Park & Preserve with activities tailored for adults and families alike.

Adult Gnome Hunt – June 22nd & 23rd

Escape into nature with your adult friends for the Adult Gnome Hunt at Swiss Valley Preserve. On June 22nd and 23rd, from 8 AM to 5 PM, embark on a self-guided hike along the Bluebird Trail and Stream Bottom Trail to find mischievous gnomes hiding off the path. The preserve has been overrun by gnomes once again, and they’re causing quite a stir! This is a fantastic opportunity to explore the preserve at your own pace while enjoying the company of other adult friends. Come and go as you please for a day of fun and adventure.

Conservation Equipment Petting Event – June 23rd

On June 23rd, from 10 AM to 12 PM, bring the whole family to Swiss Valley Park for an exciting and educational Conservation Equipment Petting Zoo. Meet the Dubuque County Conservation Park Rangers and get up close with the machinery and tools they use to maintain and protect our beautiful parks. Kids and adults alike will have the chance to see and interact with dump trucks, skid steers, tractors, burn equipment, mini excavators, Park Ranger law enforcement trucks, UTVs, and more. This hands-on event is perfect for those curious about park operations and the fascinating equipment behind the scenes.

After exploring the equipment, pack a lunch and enjoy a meal at the picturesque Swiss Valley Park’s Sycamore Pavilion. The South Side Sip food truck will also be on-site, offering delicious food and beverages to make your day even more enjoyable.
