To celebrate National Poetry Month, best-selling author and award-winning slam poet Neil Hilborn will be performing at River Lights Bookstore on Monday, April 22 from 6-7 PM. Following his performance, Neil will share his thoughts on what performance poetry is and how to express poetry as performance art.
This event is free, and all are welcome. And, if you are a spoken-word performance artist or poet, please come prepared to share your work. Following Neil’s event, River Lights will open the floor to the spoken word.
Hilborn is a best-selling author and, with over 150 million views to his credit, he is the most-watched poet ever. He has performed in 41 states and 8 countries, and in 2019 alone he drove coast to coast five times while on tour. Neil is noted for his signature wry examinations of mental health.
A limited-edition release of Neil’s second book of poetry, The Future is available at River Lights Bookstore, along with his first book of poetry, Our Numbered Days. Neil’s next collection of poems About Time will be released in November 2024 and may be pre-ordered through River Lights.
River Lights Bookstore is located at 1098 on Main Street in Dubuque.
