February is American Heart Month, dedicated to elevating the importance of heart disease, the leading cause of death for Americans.
“The average American gained 30 pounds during COVID – obviously an unhealthy number,” said Mike Nethery, co-owner of Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping in Dubuque. “But even before Covid, one in five deaths were heart related.”
The silver lining from the pandemic may be that it increased consciousness about the importance of health and exercise.
