Day Of Self-Renewal – Thursday, Feb. 2 @ 9 AM-4:30 PM
This day just for you will begin with a group guided meditation and offers your choice of two services (see below), a private guest room, delicious lunch, and access to our chapel, grounds, and labyrinth. Enjoy a quiet reading space, nap in your private room, or enjoy peaceful prayer time in the chapel.

Sacred Partnerships Retreat – Friday- Sunday, Feb. 3-5
Join Shannon and Eric Evans during this sacred time on the beautiful grounds of the Shalom Spirituality Center with your partner and explore the contemplative dimensions, joys, and demands of committed romantic partnerships in a weekend retreat setting.

Walking and Praying in the Labyrinth – Tuesday, Feb. 14 @ 5:30 PM-6:30 PM
Is life too busy to sit and pray? You are invited to come and walk the labyrinth which is a sacred journey of prayer. This is a silent, prayerful practice suitable for older teens and adults. Freewill offering.

Lunch and Renew: Chair Yoga – Wednesday, Feb. 15 @ 11:30 PM-12:30 PM
Facilitator: Deb May Strengthen and support your immune system with simple Chair Yoga poses while relieving neck, shoulder, and back tension, followed by a simple and delicious lunch! Cost is $15/person.

Meditation and Music: Sound Healing – Monday, Feb. 20 @ 6:30 PM–7:30 PM
A wonderful meditative & healing session. Cost is $10/person.

2023 Native Book Discussion Series (via Zoom) – Tuesday, Feb. 7 @ 7 PM-8:15 PM
This book discussion series is an invitation to deeply engage with wisdom, pain, challenge, tragedy, beauty, history, land and much more through the words of Native women. Eric Anglada will include short presentation and facilitated conversation in each session. It is not required to have read all the book but reading beforehand will deepen your experience.

Legacy of Agriculture at Sinsinawa (175 Years of Farming) – Wednesday, Feb. 9 @ 6 PM-7 PM (via Zoom)
Farming has been a way of life at the Mound since 1847 when Fr. Samuel Mazzuchelli founded the order of Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa. Laurana Snyder will walk you through the past legacy of farming at Sinsinawa and explore where the future of farming is taking us.

Forest Ecology at the Mound (On-Site) – Saturday, Feb. 11 @ 10 AM-11 AM
Birds, bugs, and beauty galore! Find all this and more at the Mound this winter and spring season. Join Laurana Snyder to hike and learn all about forest ecology in our little slice of the Driftless. This is an outdoor activity, and we will be hiking on and off trail so be sure to bring sturdy hiking boots and weather appropriate clothing. We will also proceed if there is snow on the ground so you may want to bring snowshoes or ice tracks with you.

Canvas Painting (On-Site) – Saturday, Feb. 18 @ 9 AM-12 PM
Sarah Barnes, artist from Dubuque, Iowa will guide you step-by-step in how to paint on canvas. All supplies will be provided. Bring along your friends for an enjoyable and creative morning!

Black Land Matters (via Zoom) – Tuesday, Feb. 21 @ 7 PM-8 PM
At this crucial racial moment, it is important that all of us grapple with the connections between history, racism, land, food, Black-led agrarian projects and possibilities for reparations. Eric Anglada will lead this discussion.

The Wisdom of Wendell Berry (via Zoom) – Tuesday, Feb. 28 @ 7 PM-8 PM
Wendell Berry is one of our most lyrical, passionate and important prophets writing today on issues of place, land, responsibility, hope and health. In our dark and precarious times, Eric Anglada will help us delve into the poetry and prose of Berry, including his most recent (and possibly last) book, The Need to Be Whole, on racism.
