VOICES Plants Roots in Dubuque’s Central Avenue Corridor

For nearly 20 years, the art and activism of Voices Productions (Voices) has expanded the collective imagination of the Dubuque community. Over the past two decades, Voices operated without a physical location and produced programming to creatively and innovatively serve, activate, and inspire the community.

From 2006-15, Voices brought to life Voices from the Warehouse District that catalyzed energy and investment in the now-vibrant Millwork District. Then, in the spirit of positive community transformation, Voices took its vision of arts as a catalyst into neighborhoods throughout downtown Dubuque through the Voices Mural Project – creating 50+ murals that have inspired education, collective creation of art, community conversation, and tourism.

Now, Voices is beginning a new chapter of building community through art at its newly completed permanent home in the Central Avenue Corridor at Voices Studios, located at 1585 Central Ave.
