Waltzing Through Your Wedding with Adam’s Dance Connection

by Teri Link

The “First Dance” of a newly married couple is a popular tradition at many modern American wedding receptions. The style of the first dance is a personal choice – some couples opt for a rehearsed, choreographed dance, while others stick with the more traditional options like waltz. These days, ballroom dance isn’t a skill commonly practiced in our society, and because of that many couples opt to take formal dance lessons to learn how to present the best versions of themselves on the dance floor. One of the most fun and reliable ways to learn how to dance is at a dance studio with lessons taught by a professional.

Since 2015, Adam’s Dance Connection has been offering wedding dance lessons to area couples planning for their big day. Owner Adam Kieffer originally opened his studio on the westside of Dubuque and subsequently moved downtown into a beautiful studio space in the Millwork District. Unlike many dance professionals, Adam’s road to success in the dance world followed quite the winding path. Answering an advertisement to become a dance instructor with Arthur Murray Dance Studio in 2001, he went on to teach dance for a number of years in Connecticut, until moving back to his hometown of Dubuque with his wife, Jessica.
