Western Writers of America, a distinguished organization of over 700 Western authors nationwide, recognized Jerry Enzler as a 2022 Spur Finalist for his biography, Jim Bridger: Trailblazer of the American West. The award was presented June 24, 2022 in Great Falls, Montana.
Enzler’s book, published in April 2021 and now in its third printing, was ranked by Western Writers of America as one of the top three Western biographies nationally, thereby giving it a Spur Finalist Award. Authors in other categories were also recognized as finalists, including authors W. Michael Gear (and Kathleen O’Neal Gear) pictured here, who are among the most noteworthy authors in Western fiction.
This is Enzler’s first book. His Bridger biography also received the Reader Choice Award in Western biography from True West Magazine’s Best of the West 2022 which was announced in January, 2022.
