Continuing to make the Mississippi riverfront a destination, Art on the River presents a new wave of sculptures connected by a heartfelt sentiment. This year’s theme is “Crossing Bridges.” The chosen pieces reflect the theme of connection between people across and despite our differences and the challenges we all face in maintaining and building our relationships with each other.

Jenni Petersen-Brant, City of Dubuque Arts & Cultural Affairs Coordinator, explains that the theme was chosen by a community planning group. She heads up the organization of the annual year-round program, and enjoys working with local artists as well as artists from across the country.
