Kiwanis Club Of Dubuque Supports Youth Organizations With $15,000 In Grants

The Kiwanis Club of Dubuque, part of Kiwanis International, has chosen two outstanding organizations to support in 2022. Each will receive $7,500 for programs to provide life experiences and fill immediate needs for youth in the community. After interviewing representatives from several different organizations, St Mark Youth Enrichment and Opening Doors were selected as the recipients.

At St Mark Youth Enrichment, the support includes an event on the Heritage Trail, a family BINGO night, t-shirts for the Youth Summer Camp, a trip to Four Mounds, and other events. Club members will help with staffing and enjoy time with the families.

The funding for Opening Doors, a homeless shelter for women and children, is also a multi-faceted award. It will fund birthday celebrations, holiday events, transportation, field trips, school clothes, and support their new “Filling Your Cup event” on June 30. The Kiwanis members will have a booth at the event, participate in the field trips and Kiwanis youth clubs will make birthday cards for the kids.
