Northwest Illinois Economic Development (NWILED) is pleased to announce David Schmit as Interim Executive Director following the departure of Emily Legel. Legel had been the Executive Director of NWILED since July 2019. Emily is pursuing a new opportunity within the economic development industry elsewhere; her final day with the company was February 18, 2022 and we wish her the best of luck.
Schmit joined NWILED in September 2020 as the organization’s program coordinator. In his new role, he will work in tandem with the NWILED Board of Director to advance the organization’s mission and strategic goals.
