Holy Family Catholic Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of three new school administrators for the 2022-2023 school year. They will officially assume their new roles on July 1, 2022.
Our Lady of Guadalupe Spanish Immersion School
Kathleen Konrardy ’99 has been selected to follow Carolyn Wiezorek ’80 as principal of Our Lady of Guadalupe Spanish Immersion School. Konrardy currently serves as the system’s special education coordinator and will leverage opportunities to work alongside Mrs. Wiezorek in the coming months to help ensure a smooth transition as she gets to know students, parents, and staff.
Konrardy holds an Advanced Studies Certificate in Educational Leadership from the University of Northern Iowa. She earned her Master of Arts in Special Education from Morningside College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Loras College. She has 17 years of experience in education, the last nine of which have been at Holy Family. She served as the special education teacher at Resurrection before moving into her current system-level role. Konrardy also currently serves as an adjunct professor at Loras College.
A Wahlert Catholic graduate, Konrardy has an affinity for Holy Family schools, especially Our Lady, where her three children attended.
St Columbkille Elementary
Holy Family welcomes Sr. Catherine Stewart, O.P., Ed.D, to succeed Barb Roling as principal of St. Columbkille elementary school. She currently serves as the teaching principal at Father McCarten Memorial School in Marceline, Missouri.
Sr. Stewart expressed her excitement to begin a new chapter at St. Columbkille Elementary, noting her lifelong calling to the field of education. This new chapter represents a return to the Archdiocese of Dubuque for Sr. Stewart, who previously taught at Mt. Mercy College in Cedar Rapids from 2006 to 2010. She has also served on the Archdiocesan Catholic School Board.
Sr. Stewart holds a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Sarasota, an Education Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois, Champaign, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from the University of St. Francis in Joliet.
Wahlert Catholic High School
Mariah Reeves has been promoted to principal of Wahlert Catholic High School after two years serving as the school’s associate principal and academic innovation coordinator. She will replace Ron Meyers ’79, with whom she works closely to support a seamless transition into her new role.
Reeves has a master’s degree in PK–12 Educational Leadership with an administrative license and evaluator approval from Drake University. She earned her Secondary Education degree from Coe College.
Since joining Wahlert Catholic in 2020, Reeves has worked to expand and improve the personalized learning model in grades 9–12. This includes an integrated approach to service learning and a student-centered support framework through the implementation of Eagle Time. Additionally, Reeves developed the framework for competency-based learning at Wahlert and an experiential learning January “J”-Term to launch in the 2022-2023 school year.
Before coming to Holy Family, Reeves taught secondary English at Mount Vernon High School where she created elective courses and wrote curriculum while serving on the district’s leadership committee; she served as the professional learning community (PLC) facilitator and secondary representative in the development of MTSS framework and a standards-based teaching and learning platform.
