Riverview Center received notification, that they have received a federal grant for $575,000 to address the need for transitional housing assistance for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. This federal grant will serve sexual assault survivors in Riverview Center’s 14 county Northeast Region of Iowa, as well as sexual or domestic violence survivors in Jo Daviess and Carroll Counties in Illinois.

This critically needed transitional housing assistance will provide survivors with 6-24 months of rent assistance as they work to heal and move forward after abuse. This project includes access to Riverview Center’s counseling/ therapy and medical/legal/social service advocacy supports, as well as expanded support through IowaWORKS and Best Inc. for educational and occupational skills so survivors can minimize the lifetime impact of abuse.

Riverview Center’s empowering services build on survivors’ strengths as they are provided options and support as they work to achieve their self-identified goals.
