Craig Mason Named New Dubuque Youth Wind Ensemble Conductor

The Dubuque Symphony Orchestra (DSO) announces that Craig Mason has joined the artistic staff as conductor of the Dubuque Youth Wind Ensemble. As conductor of the Wind Ensemble, Mason is responsible for conducting rehearsals and concerts, recruiting and auditioning young musicians from area schools, and setting the artistic course for the ensemble.

Mason attended the University of Wisconsin at Platteville, where he received a Comprehensive Music Education Degree. He earned a Master’s Degree in Music Education at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He has taught and conducted many wind bands, brass bands, choirs, theater productions, music theory classes, jazz ensembles, marching bands, and chamber ensembles.
