Dubuque Master Gardeners Team Up with Local Nonprofits to Fight Hunger

The Dubuque County Master Gardeners with numerous other volunteers, have teamed up with three nonprofit organizations to grow fresh local produce for people in need. The Dubuque Rescue Mission, Salvation Army of Dubuque, and Westminster Presbyterian Church each hosted a donation garden growing a combined 4,983 pounds of food for local people in need. This work was funded in part by a $2,000 grant by the USDA’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program awarded to the Dubuque County ISU Extension and Outreach Office, who administered the funds.
