Watermelon Summer

Watermelon is so much more than a sweet summer memory. Watermelons are fantastic to eat for many reasons. They are 92% water, making them the perfect food for consumption in the hot summer sun. They have high levels of vitamins A, B6, and C. They are loaded with antioxidants, amino acids, and lycopene, with small amounts of potassium and the best part – only 40 calories per cup.

Watermelon is not only delicious, but also good for you! But other than the standard chilled or fresh from the garden watermelon, what else can you do with watermelon? I have talked, in years past, of watermelon smoothies, watermelon sorbet, even a beautiful watermelon, feta, and basil salad. But let’s try a new twist on what you can do with watermelon.
