CARES Act funds Awarded to the Dubuque County Historical Society

The Dubuque County Historical Society (DCHS) was awarded $18,000 in emergency relief funding through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, distributed by the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs in association with the National Endowment for the Arts, National Endowment for the Humanities, and Arts Midwest.

The funds will provide relief for expenses incurred during the organization’s closure of the River Museum due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. Those expenses include the support of the critical infrastructure required to maintain aquarium life support systems and general utilities necessary to ensure the safety and longevity of the organization’s historical collections, among other impacted areas.
