DRA Grant Award Supports Transportation Improvement Project

A grant award in the amount of $24,900 from the Dubuque Racing Association, Q Casino, and the Diamond Jo Casino has assisted Hills & Dales in purchasing two additional minivans to further address transportation needs at the organization.

Transportation is one of the greatest barriers for Hills & Dales, and the individuals supported by the organization. These vans help gain community access for those utilizing the day habilitation, respite, childcare, autismHD, and 24-hour supported community and residential living programs. Transportation needs may be to attend social outings, school, field trips, physician and therapy appointments, volunteer opportunities, and the community in general. The grant award from the Dubuque Racing Association also allowed for the purchase of additional safety equipment including safety harnesses, booster seats, and car seats for the children utilizing these vans.

Since 1996, the Dubuque Racing Association has donated over $419,721 to Hills & Dales for various projects and needs. The organization is appreciative of the ongoing support the DRA has provided to assist in the mission to build meaningful lives for individuals with disabilities by offering services that support the whole person and enhance community inclusion.
